T&C's & FAQ's ( The Small Print ! )
Thank you for taking tome to read these conditions, the FAQ's follow. We are human beings who do enthuse about cars, understand their frailties and I do operate a very flexible, personal approach to my business. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to CONTACT me and I will be happy to help !
I will honour any quote we provide for 14 days from date of issue subject to the facts supplied being accurate and there is no rise in the price of fuel of more than 5% at my local filling station during this 14 day period.
Quotations issued are for vehicle transportation undertaken during normal working hours during a normal working week. I am of course flexible with regard to collection and delivery times as I am human and again can accommodate most scenarios with notice at no extra cost. Please note however that weekend and bank holiday working is available, but only at an additional cost, currently 50% of the original quotation issued if not already specified as required within the original quotation request.
All bookings must be paid for in full before any booking can be confirmed. No guarantees are given as to availability and delivery / collection times until monies are received as cleared funds. Payment may be made by cheque, bank transfer ( BACS ) or Credit / Debit card via PayPal. Payment via PayPal may incur an additional charge of 5% to cover fees and is not a recommended method of payment. See www.paypal.co.uk for T&C's relating to PayPal transactions. Cash on delivery is an option available by prior arrangement only and to existing customers. A charge will be made for dishonoured cheques at my banks prevailing rate plus an additional administration charge of £ 25 for each written request for settlement.
I am happy to recover vehicles from isolated or hard to access locations with notice. If the vehicle requires pushing or manoeuvring then there must be someone present to assist, direct etc. I cannot be expected to carry out such duties alone and if a vehicle cannot be collected in such circumstances no refunds will be given. I do appreciate that a vehicle can't always be left in a suitable loading place prior to me arriving, but do ask that sufficient people are present to assist to avoid the risk of damage or injury occurring. Failure to disclose relevant facts may incur additional charging for waiting times, vehicle condition and accessibility.
All vehicles must be accessible, able to roll with minimum of effort and be structurally sound and fit for travel without risk to others from loose or damaged panels and parts. We must be advised of vehicle condition prior to collection and are happy to accommodate most scenarios with notice. Waiting time beyond reasonable loading and unloading activity is chargeable at £ 25 per hour or part thereof after this time. Media work is subject to separate negotiation.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their vehicle does not and will not leak any fluids during transportation beyond a typical amount as is expected with some older vehicles and projects. Whilst this can potentially be harmful to our environment it can also cause damage to my transporting vehicle or trailer. Additional cleaning of my vehicles in such circumstances will incur an additional charge of £25. The internet is monitored for illegal copies of my website content which contains many unique invisible features to assist detection of theft of my data. I wrote this site myself and very proud of it I am too so will take measures to protect it!
With regard to damage caused during transit, I will only be held responsible for damage caused by me during unloading or loading or anything else caused as a direct result of my actions. Damage caused by outside forces such as loose chippings on a road surface can not be covered. This does not apply to any road accident where there is no question as to the cause of the damage sustained.
Where a collection delivery time is agreed, there must be someone at each location to despatch and accept the vehicle unless prior notice is given and arrangements made to accommodate collection or delivery. As with unreasonable loading and unloading times any waiting time in excess of one hour will be charged at £25 per hour or part thereof unless we are notified of any possible delays such as customs clearance etc.
Whilst I aim to arrive at the designated times, I cannot be held responsible for circumstances out of my control, traffic jams etc. However I will endeavour to keep all parties involved fully informed of any delays by phone, along with revised times.
I cannot be held responsible for any loss of income or other factors not outlined here.
Frequently Asked Questions
I am frequently asked about the rules and regulations regarding vehicle transportation, which are very strict and penalties severe for violation. To make things just that little bit easier I have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ's ) that come my way on a daily basis. Of course if you have further question or enquiry and would like to speak to a human being please do not hesitate to
contact me directly. Listed below is a brief outline of our understanding of the current situation.
I cannot emphasise enough tha
t your vehicle may be impounded in transit and is unlikely to be insured if unlike us your chosen transport company does not follow the strict guidelines governed by The Department of Transport Vehicle and Operator Services Agency ( VOSA ). Visit their website by clicking here...
So, briefly...
Is my vehicle insured in your care ?
Yes. Once in my custody or control your vehicle is comprehensively insured.
Yes, as above. This cover is often neglected by other operators.
All vehicles that are used for the conveyance of goods for money that have a Gross Vehicle Weight ( GVW ) of more than 3500kg must have on display in the windscreen an "O" or "Operators" licence in addition to the tax disc. If it does not, or it is out of date, it may be being operated illegally - None of our vehicles require "O" licences.
All vehicles that are used for the conveyance of goods for money that have a Gross Vehicle Weight ( GVW ) or Train Weight ( Vehicle plus Trailer ) of more than 3500kg must be fitted with a tachograph. In simple terms this is a record of the drivers working day to ensure that driving rules are adhered to, which are very strict and governed by law. All of my vehicles are fitted with Tachographs and operated within the rules governed by The Department of Transport Vehicle and Operator Services Agency ( VOSA ). Visit their website by clicking here...
If your vehicle is being delivered on a trailer then the towing vehicle must be fitted with a tachograph as detailed above irrespective of vehicle type, be it Car, 4x4, Panel Van or otherwise. If it does not, it may be being operated illegally. Further restrictions apply to the total weight of towing vehicle and trailer too. Even when the trailer is empty we are still governed by the tachograph laws.

Vehicle Transportation is NOT Vehicle Recovery. The same rules apply as detailed above and this vehicle may be being operated illegally.
Ask how the vehicle will be transported - if on a truck, what type of truck ? What is the Gross Vehicle Weight ? If over 3500kg or recovery truck does it have a Tacho Fitted ? Does it have an operators licence on display ? If it's on a trailer, is the towing vehicle fitted with a tachograph ? If any of the answers are "No" then it is likely that the transporter is being operated illegally.
There are a number of very good vehicle transportation companies operating up and down the United Kingdom and thankfully very few rogues. However a few simple checks on your behalf will bring very great peace of mind. Good operators big and small will never hesitate to answer your questions or provide any evidence that you may require as to the operation of their business and levels of cover and vehicle operation. Sadly we hear many tales of those that have been bitten in the past - the delivery of a new car be it a banger for restoration or a concourse example is always something to look forward to so...
PLEASE REMEMBER -
YOUR VEHICLE IS AT RISK FROM BEING IMPOUNDED AND IS UNLIKELY TO BE INSURED IN TRANSIT if your chosen operator does not operate within the law and that is a fact.CLICK HERE TO RETURN TO THE QUOTATION REQUEST PAGE
